Takahashi House

Charles Tetsuo (C.T.) Takahashi 高橋徹夫 was a prominent businessman and community leader in Seattle from the late 1890s until his death in 1920. He co-founded the Oriental Trading Company with Ototaka Yamaoka 山岡音高 in 1898. It became the largest supplier of Japanese labor to the Great Northern and Northern Pacific railroads in the early decades of the 20th century. His family lived in this house at 507 22nd Avenue on Capital Hill from about 1910 until the spring of 1942.
