Desiring to see people enjoying music and dancing, Hisato Kawaminami, 29, finally opened a nightclub "Chop Suey" in June after two years preparation.
More than nine years ago, before Kawaminami came to the United States as a college student, he worked for a nightclub K'S DRESM located in Chiba prefecture, Japan. He was dreaming about working with music, Kawaminami said.
The owner of K'S DREAM has had a dream to open an American nightclub in Japan and the United States since he studied abroad in New York. He wanted to have a nightclub in Seattle, being a fan of Nirvana and offered Kawaminami his plan.
K'S DREAM wishes to exchange Japanese and American bands and wants them to experience the differences, Kawaminami said.
"I want to be a bridge between American music and Japanese music," the owner told Kawaminami.
Since Kawaminami started working with K'S DREAM, he has succeeded in exchanging two Japanese bands and one American band. Kawaminami helped managing their tours and translating languages.
Chop Suey plans to host Japanese rock band "Soul D!" in November and "Arukara" in January.
